1. With the first election of a woman into the seat of Chancellorship, the word "Bundeskanzlerin," as a feminine noun for the title, was voted Word of the Year in 2005 by the Academy of German Language.
   Mit der erstmaligen Wahl einer Frau in das Amt des Bundeskanzlers wurde das Wort "Bundeskanzlerin“ von der Gesellschaft für deutsche Sprache zum Wort des Jahres 2005 gekürt.
